One Week After Happy New Year!

January 8th, 2007 · No Comments · Uncategorized

It’s been one week after the new year. I still can’t believe it’s 2007 already. How are you doing so far for 2007? We are done with week one of 52 for the year.

Many people set New Years Resolutions and by the time the first week of the New Year has passed they have forgotten their New Years Resolutions, or have given up on them now. I hadn’t really sat down and set New Years Resolutions for this year yet. I had just done some reflecting and thinking back over the past year. The most common things to set New Years Resolutions are about health, wealth and wellness.

As far as the health, I’d like to work out at least 3 times per week either running and doing ab work, push ups or just stretching and doing some resistance training.

I would like to read 15 minutes a day. I saw someone had a goal of reading a book a week. I think that may be over ambitious for myself, but having the goal of reading at least 15 minutes per day. I know that I will be able to work through a book in about 2 to 3 weeks if I read a chapter a day in 15 minutes.

A good way to help you remember and understand what you’ve read is to summarize in your own words and to take notes of the material. I like to take notes the old fashioned way with paper and a pen or pencil and write it in a notebook. The other big thing that I have found is taking action or allowing what you’ve read to affect you and become a part of you by applying it. I’ve spent more time reading books, courses and other information without taking any action then I care to share. So taking 5 minutes to take action or apply some of what you’ve learned from the book will help you to really integrate the information into our lives.

I have heard many great things about journaling and have done it on occasion, but haven’t done it consistently. It is tough to start the routine and stay in it. Just like starting a workout program or any training program it takes discipline and work. I will journal at least 3 times per week and write in my blog (yeah what you’re reading right now) more frequently.

I will be open to new sources of revenue, income and continue to nurture and grow the income streams that I currently have coming in. I was listening to an audio about focus the other day and it discussed the idea that business and work were like systems. You have some inputs and of effort, time and energy and hopefully money comes out and the money that you receive is sufficient or greater than the expenditure of your effort, time and energy that you had put in.

If you’re interested in systems and how to leverage your time, energy and money you can go to Simpleology.com and take a look at what Mark Joyner has put together. It is a great organization tool and he keeps things very simple. But don’t under estimate the simplicity with the power and insightfulness of what is taught there. It has helped me focus a great deal and get the things I need to accomplished.

I’ll speak with you soon.

To a Great 2007 to you and yours,

Ted
