Ok, to start off with what does declartion mean?

Well according to Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary located at m-w.com

declaration linked
Main Entry:	dec·la·ra·tion
Pronunciation:	"de-kl&-'rA-sh&n
Function:	noun
1 : the act of declaring : ANNOUNCEMENT
2 a : the first pleading in a common-law action b : a statement made by a party to a legal transaction usually not under oath

So now we look at what does declare mean, again according to Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary:

declare linked

1 : to make known formally, officially, or explicitly
2 obsolete : to make clear
3 : to make evident : SHOW
4 : to state emphatically : AFFIRM <declares his innocence>
5 : to make a full statement of (one’s taxable or dutiable property)

Ok, ok you might be asking yourself so what does this have to do with me? Stick with me here, I’ll get there in a second.

So I signed up for this early morning teleseminar, I’m a bit of a teleseminar junkie. I attend or listen to about 3 to 4 a week. There’s usually some great info and it’s good to study how they host and guests promote their products. I’m getting off on a tangent here. Anyways, I got on this early morning teleseminar…it was like 7 AM for meon Thursday, man was it early for a teleseminar, usually I’m inundated with teleseminars at night 5 PM, 6 PM, 6:30 PM, but this was one of the few that was in the morning. So I thought this one was a bit interesting and a little different. I get on the call with Mike Litman Best Selling Author of Conversation with Millionaires (of mikelitman.com) and he starts talking about Greatness Nation. If you’ve never been on call or heard a recording of Mike he’s got alot of energy and zip, especially for 7 AM in the morning.

He talked about give to get, and get to give.

What does that mean? You have to give to yourself. We have to give to ourselves first before we can go out there and try to save the world. Give yourself the gift of time, focus and access. Build ourselves up.

Now here’s where it gets interesting…

Mike said, “I want you to be a different person by Monday.” …this was Thursday morning.

The next couple of questions were good, remember we talked about questions a couple of days ago,

How can you make today memorable?
What is your goal?
When are you going to accomplish it?

Mike asked people to volunteer and declare what it is that they wanted to do and when (the latest was Monday). So i got on the line and declared my goal, “My goal is to contact 10 business contacts.” Then Mike asks me, “by when?” I say, “by Monday at noon.” Then I sent an email to Mike and said he’ll have someone follow up with me.

I declared it, what I want. I had been procrastinating about doing this for weeks. So now I declared it and have to be held accountable. I’ve done more in the last 48 hours to move me forward than I had done in the previous 2 weeks. Figure out what you want and declare it to the world.

Now, who else has used the power of declaration?

Sterling Valentine (of jvformula.com) declared to the world that he was going to sell $100,000 in 99 days. He was a guy with nothing but a beat up laptop and a dream that declared to the world that he was going to make it happen. He declared to everyone at jvalert that he was going on this mission. So how did he do? He did better than his $100,000 and has some other projects in the burner.

Joel Christopher (of masterlistbuilder.com) declared that he was going to double his list in 99 days. He challenged himself and declared it to the world. He not only doubled it, he actually tripled his list to over 30,903 in only 99 days and became the “Master List Builder”.

Now it’s your turn. Decide what it is that you want, and when you want to achieve it by then declare it to the world. Announce it, affirm it and make it evident. You can post your goals and i’ll follow up with you. Go out there and do it. Let’s make things happen.

I attended my first internet marketing seminar back in May. Joel Christopher’s Fun Shop down in San Antonio.

On the first or second day I got a chance to meet Tom Beal and I asked him what advice he’d give to someone attending their first seminar. He said “find one take away from the conference”. Just that one idea that can move you forward. Don’t go trying to get over complicated.

During the weekend in San Antonio I had the fortune and opportunity to spend some time with my mentor Jason Oman (of JasonOman.com). The most important thing that I learned was about the questions you ask yourself. Jason and I were at dinner with a couple of other people and we were discussing this person’s background and their business model. Jason came up with this awesome headline. Everyone at the table was like wow! How did you come up with that? He said he asked himself what kind of headline would I need to to see to make me want to click on the subscribe button without me even thinking or knowing about it. Yeah, you’ve just read this headline and are like wow, i’ve got to see that and the mouse moves over to the link and clicks on it before you even know it. It’s like you’ve been hypnotized.

A couple weekends ago I attended the Focus 4 The Future Seminar in Seattle. That was another awesome event where I had a chance to meet a lot of people and just hang out and pick the minds of some of the internet’s top experts. We’ll be going over more of that in an upcoming post. Anyways, the one big take away that I had was from Sterling Valentine (of jvformula.com). In his presentation he said something that was fairly simple but very profound.

He said, “knowledge is information. action is power.”

Wait…did you get that, that is very powerful. I’m going to say it again

“knowledge is information. action is power.”

We are taught that knowledge is power. It really isn’t until you actually do something with that knowledge. I have been an info junkie, reading and studying everything that I could get my hands on. So I had lots of knowledge. So where was the power? hmm…not enough or no action was taken so there were no results. That’s right action is the key to everything. You can think and plan all day, but if you don’t take the action nothing will happen.

Here’s another way of putting it that I’ve heard before. You can study a stocks, analyze everything and pick out the best stock in the world. It will double in a year for sure. But if you don’t actually sit down and log in to your brokerage account online and hit the BUY button all that knowledge and information is useless.

What action do you need to be taking today?

Do it now!

Don’t wait until tomorrow, or the next day. You won’t ever do it. I’ve been in the exact same situation. Oh I’ll work on that tomorrow. 2 weeks go by, no results no action. 1 month it’s still on my list of things to do…still no action. I might as well not have written it down. I’m sure you’ve felt that way as well.

Just Do It!

Ok so we’ll summarize for today.

1. Ask yourself thought provoking or stretching questions. It’s the key. You won’t find the answers unless you ask the right questions.

2. Get into action. Information and knowledge is useless if it is not applied. Go take some action with whatever you’ve got and do it. Go make a big mess of it, screw up, you’ll learn more than you ever did just sitting on the sidelines.

Whoo… what an incredible weekend. So much information and great stuff. I got a chance to hear and watch 3 incredible Internet Marketers give their first presentations. Keith Wellman of viralfx.com and listfx.com fame, Michael Cheney of adsense-videos.com fame and Sterling Valentine of jvformula.com fame all give their first presentations. Oh, man were they great presenatations at that.

Dr. Mike Woo Ming gave an awesome presentation about the last secret on the internet. That put a new perspective on being highly dependent upon google adsense and the need to diversify. Gary Ambrose firehosed us with tons of information about email marketing, viral marketing, integration marketing and the steps to get all that out. Michael Cheney and Sterling Valentine went through how they both had six figure product luanches that disected all the aspects of their product launches that just occured a month or two ago. Willie Crawford, the godfather of Internet Marketing discussed product creation and different niche markets. It was my first time meeting and hearing from Willie. He was a great speaker. Stu Mclaren went through a wonderful presentation about Affiliate Marketing and how to leverage an army of affiliates. Mike Filsaime gave a great presentation about the basis of business TCF and how to increas T & C. He had some very cool tips and trick as well. Tim Knox put together a presentation about product creation and put together info products. In his former life he was once a stand up comedian and he sure lived up to the name.

I’ll be going through my notes and giving you updates. Be sure to check back.

P.S. I’ll be putting up pictures as well. Have an awesome day.
